This page gives you information on projects that are under design at the moment or have been completed recently. This section was last updated in April 2010
Chatsworth
We are working on the design of new lighting systems for three sketch galleries on the second floor where paintings, furniture and new china cases will be installed. Also two staircases are being reconfigured to allow changes in visitor circulation. One large staircase is being stripped back to its original stone form over three floors to provide one tall space to allow a deep hang of family portraits and related paintings. We are lighting this space to provide even lighting of the walls without undue reflections or direct glare for the visitors.
Theatre Royal, Bath
We designed new internal and external lighting for this fine historic theatre situated in the heart of the World Heritage City of Bath. The external lighting had to be almost invisible on the historic facade during the day but provide subtle and clear lighting during the evenings. After extensive trials and demonstrations the lighting is going to be using the latest generations of LEDs in various forms. This will save energy as well as maintenance costs over its long life.
Powis castle - National Trust
In 2009 we provided a design for new lighting of a number of rooms in the castle. This is being implemented in the Dining Room and State Bedroom this year.
Dyrham Park House - National Trust
In 2008 we prepared a comprehensive report on ways to upgrade the lighting in various parts of the house. For the 2010 season we have gone onto design the lighting for the Great hall and Diogenes Room.
American Museum, Bath
We are now designing the lighting of a new Folk art gallery. Last year we designed the lighting for two new silver cases and the first of the historic room settings at the museum. The upgrading to the lighting in the house will be carried out over a number of years as funds become available.
