Compucenter, Hatfield

This new office and distribution centre outside Hatfield had a large multi-story atrium spanning between two office wings. The atrium formed the main entrance and reception to the building and had walkways spanning across the space at three levels with glass walled lift shafts connecting them. The lighting needed to be both dramatic and functional. The various views up and across the space meant that positioning the lights was important if unacceptable glare was to be avoided. The full-height glass front and back walls also allowed for some unusual night-time lighting effects.

Windows & Daylight

LD&T have been involved in many
‘Right of Light’ investigations and planning issues involving daylight.
We have acted for and appeared at public enquiries for both developers and for residents affected by developments. As well as this we get involved in many conventional daylighting designs for buildings.
