We have worked on many projects at this museum. For the textile display gallery, where there are two sets of large swinging panels that display quilts on both sides, we designed a curved suspended track system to surround the panels so that light can penetrate into each space when the panels are opened up for viewing. The new large Folk Art Gallery is lit from spotlights mounted on powered picture rail located at the top of the wall on all four sides of the room. We are also working our way through the main set-piece display rooms within the main manor house, changing old failing fibre-optic ceiling lights for small, adjustable LED spots integrated into the ceiling. Fake windows also have separately dimmable cool and warm LED bars to allow the ‘time of day’ to be set to suit the scene in each room.
